Secret Talents of the Stars--the show that replaced Jericho? Got cancelled. After ONE airing.

These numbers are just in for SECRET TALENTS OF THE STARS which replaced Jericho at 10 PM on Tuesdays.

Since we all know that American Idol dominated Tuesday, let’s start with the series-premiere of CBS’ non-scripted Secret Talents of the Stars, which was DOA at 10 p.m. Secret Talents of the Stars opened with a miniscule (and, of course, last-place) 4.61 million viewers and a 1.5 rating/4 share among adults 18-49 at 10 p.m. Comparably, that was about one half the audience of a repeat of Criminal Minds on the year-ago evening (Viewers: 9.98 million; A18-49: 2.9/ 8 on April 10, 2007) and a major drop from the series-finale of former occupant Jericho on March 25, 2008 (Viewers: 6.02 million; A18-49: 1.8/ 5).

"Your mission, should you choose to accept it upon your other missions is to begin to hit each website that has the ability to impact Jericho in some way.

- Hit IMDB, Buddy TV, etc. (links added soon) and visit each character's profile. Those hits are logged. This site has already been told to start submitting our hit logs, others most likely will too.

- Hit every blog that mentions Jericho, give them a press release, and a friendly nudge. Don't be obnoxious and spamable, just be friendly and personable, interact with others in their own particular fandom niche.

- Visit every Jericho website. You don't have to participate if you don't want to, or you can if you want to. Make their active hits surge. (Add us to that mix, keep our active hits up, as mentioned before, we are already reporting our stats in.)

- Blog crew: Keep blogging, keep getting Dugg, keep the level of Jericho attention hot.

- Vote! Sign Petitions! While they may not count these as actual numbers, it keeps the topic hot, fresh and in the eye.

- Search engines - We did it before, we can do it again. You type in "Jericho", "Jericho CBS", "Jericho Show", or any of the actors names, the search engines log it. Some even blog it. Get those searches in.

Two weeks into the campaign, all of you had better prepare for a long haul, just like the last one. And we can't stop now. Keep the numbers up. Keep the efforts going, no matter what your personal feelings are about a fan in the fandom, remember, we are all working together for the fandom as a whole. As has been said throughout history: "The Needs of the Many Outweigh the Needs of the One". Go. Fight. Write. Web hit.

Join the Great Jericho Rewatch! Starting this Tuesday night (April 8) at 10pm EST & continuing every week, watch Jericho all over again.

April 10th's episode will be #2 of Season I: FALLOUT. Then continue thru all episodes, watching at the time we usually see the show.

If we can get the word out, & show our support by spiking the downloads, it may help CBS market the show to other networks. This wasn't my idea, & I don't know who started it, but it's a great way to show your support! Heck, there isn't anything else worth watching on TV anyway!

I am NOT in any way supporting the sending of massive amount of nuts to the Nielson's at this point.

Trust me when I say when this battle for Jericho is done, I will be the first in line to garner support for the war against the Nielson's. But I refuse to split my focus on the Save Jericho campaign right now.

Save Jericho first.

Call and leave Sci-Fi a message that we want Jericho to have a season three on their network! :)

In May of 2005, CBS announced its decision to cancel Joan of Arcadia, a series about a girl who regularly had conversations with God. It was a heart-warming, sometimes heart-wrenching show that was watched steadily by 10 million Nielson viewers in its first season and 8 in it sophomore season.

I loved the show--enough to buy the domain 'Savejoanofarcadia.com'. It's since been closed down because after two years of being online, it was just a money-drainer. But people fought very hard to revive the show for a third season. I still occasionally get emails from people in other countries wondering if we managed to save the show (we didn't). I was interviewed on a Texas radio show, by an AP reporter, and countless other people who ran online blogs, etc.

Flash forward to now. Not quite a week ago, CBS announced its decision to axe Jericho--for the second time. That's right. It was cancelled after its first season, but fans sent in over 40,000 pounds of nuts to CBS, who decided to give it a second, albeit very shortened season of seven episodes. CBS is standing pretty firm in its decision this time around. Though approximately 6 million fans were tuning in regularly on Tuesday nights (the network pitted it against American Idol and Dancing with the Stars), that's just not enough for CBS.

Jericho's creator, Carol Barbee, was on Shaun's radio show tonight. Honestly, I don't know who Shaun is, but apparently he talks about Jericho and has interviewed like, everyone involved with the show, which is awesome. I can't listen, cause I'm on dialup. *le sigh*

For me this says a couple things. Sci-Fi IS listening. They are apparently having budget talks?? That is a really good sign.

We ALL need to stop posting at CBS (I can't do much anyway, their stupid site freezes my computer) and migrate to the Jericho Sci-Fi boards. We need to hit them with letters (I sent out three today, my friend Jamie wrote one, and my parents are sending one tomorrow), postcards and lots of positive things about Jericho. Also, be sure and tune into the reruns on Friday nights! This is important! From what I've heard, the reruns alone are pulling in about 1 million viewers (this is not Nielson ratings, btw...apparently cable has a way to track when you're watching something?? I'm not clear how that works). One million is a LOT for reruns. Imagine what NEW episodes would bring.

AND DID I MENTION THAT THE CAST WILL STILL BE ON BOARD WITH THIS SHOW IF IT CONTINUES?

*calms down*

Fight on, Rangers.

Oh. And another thing. If I have time and energy, expect a blog from me tomorrow on the reasons why this fight is MUCH different from the fight for Joan of Arcadia. Cause truly, there are a LOT.
